GSM Architect

We are looking for an inspired GSM software architect to be a part of our Architecture and Specification team. Responsibility is to create and maintain effective GSM base station and base station controller (BSC) SW architecture and design as part of the team. Focus area are some or all of the following sub-domains depending on skills:

What will you do:

• Partition and dimension GSM operation, including collecting requirements, use cases, defining interfaces, analyzing options for hardware/software splits;
• Define subsystems and their interfaces with other components;
• Create specifications of SW architecture;
• Consult development teams in implementing features compliant to the architecture requirements;
• Perform technical analysis and refinement of features;
• Create traceable product architecture requirements for feature teams and participate in architecture improvement features scheduling;
• Lead certain technical domain area(s) within project;
• Investigate and correct SW architecture defects and related complex customer problems;
• Analyze 3GPP update.

What do we expect from a future team member:

• Master or above in telecommunication, electronic engineering, computer science, or related;
• General knowledge of GSM/LTE/5G;
• Deep knowledge of and first-hand experience (requirements, modeling, implementation, profiling, testing or deployment) with some particular GSM layer or component;
• 5+ years of background on development of wireless/telecom/radar systems;
• Verbal communication and fluent writing skills in English and Russian languages;
• Rich experience on programming in Python/Matlab/C/C++ and/or modelling wireless communications systems;
• Strong background in SW architecture and/or specification work for telecom/radar/wireless (embedded systems, ARM, DSP, ASIC, FPGA etc.) and/or signal processing SW;
• Expert in embedded system aspects, real-time operating systems;
• Excellent understanding of software system design;
• Proactive and independent problem solving through own experience and network;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in distributed teams.

Preferred skills:

• Strong background in communications theory and signal processing;
• Understanding of the ASIC/FPGA or DSP/low level SW design flow and process;
• Embedded systems, ARM, DSP, ASIC, FPGA etc. SW development expertise.
